Description: The Batcheller Mansion of Saratoga New
York has a long history. The house was built in 1873 for George Sherman
Batcheller. His original name for the house Kaser-el-Nouzha, is Arabic
for palace of pleasure. After having passed through the hands of several owners
the house has recently been restored and renamed the Batcheller Mansion after
the Batcheller Family. The house is currently a Bed and Breakfast Inn.
John's Owen's plein air watercolor painting is of a summer afternoon in a bygone
era showing this fine architectural treasure in detail. John's lush handling of
